Blue Manila, Inc. (BMI) was founded in November 1983 and is licensed by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) as a sea-based manning agency operating in compliance with MLC 2006.

Blue Manila’s core activities are:

• Recruitment.
• Testing and evaluation.
• Selection.
• Training.
• Deployment of qualified (based on education, experience, and training) properly certificated, well documented, medically fit, possessing the right attitude and English proficient Filipino seafarers on board our principals' vessels.

Our first Crew deployment was in Dec 1983 consisting of 40 crew to 2 VLCC’s (Very Large Crude Carriers) registered under the Iranian flag and trading in the Persian Gulf.

The vessels were under a German-owned crew management company operating in Cyprus.

The number of manned VLCC’s increased to 20. Bulk carriers and supply vessels were added to the manned fleet. In 1984, we began to supply Officers and crew to Heavy Lift/ Project Cargo  Vessels owned by another German company.

Over the years, we have supplied Filipino Officers and crew to various types of vessels ranging from:

• AHTS.
• Bulk carriers.
• Container.
• General cargo.
• Heavy Lift/ Project cargo.
• Multipurpose.
• Offshore (including icebreakers engaged in Kazahkstan oil exploration projects).
• Reefer.
• Research vessels.
• Roro vessel.
